Jake Butler

Product Manager

Usability may not be a word many champion, but Jake Butler, MeYou Health's Product Manager, isn't afraid to tell you that's his primary focus. So is Facebook. At MeYou Health, Jake is paving the way in creating Facebook applications and engagement experiences around health and well-being. Among the team, he's rightfully the go-to person for explaining how Facebook apps can successfully engage people.

Jake brings many talents and skills to MeYou Health, including his experience at fbFund, his knack for Adobe Photoshop, his keen eye for User Experience, and his extensive musical interests. He describes MeYou Health as a company helping each other improve individual and collective well-being so we can all live happier lives.

Jake's past work experience includes Life360 and University Pipeline Inc. Before moving to Boston, Jake lived and worked in the San Francisco Bay Area. Perhaps that's where he picked up his most over-used phrase: “Make it pop.” And it certainly must be where he adopted the prolific use of the word “dude.”

Having studied at the University of California, Berkeley, earning a degree in Mass Communications, Jake is weak in the knees for all things San Fran and finds inspiration in the people he knows as well as new ideas. He recommends carrying something with you so you can always, no matter where you are, jot your ideas down as notes.

On that note -- and speaking of music -- Jake is often seen rockin' out in stylish big headphones while working on new well-being products at MeYou Health. Music makes him most productive, especially when dubstep, classic soul or the blues are streaming into his headset.

More about Jake:

  • fave childhood tv show/comic: The Snorks and Fraggle Rock
  • is daydreaming of a vaca in: Indonesia to visit my buddy who's a surfing guide there
  • wouldn't be caught wearing: a popped collar
  • totally geeks out over: that band you haven't heard of yet, awesome DIY toys, and Maker Faires
  • secret talent is: playing flamenco guitar
  • would take these 3 things to a desert island: 2 turntables and 1 microphone
  • fave websites/blogs to read: hypem.com, insidefacebook.com, smashingmagazine.com
  • the last great book read was: The Confessions of Max Tivoli
  • has these 3 pretty awesome words to describe myself: weird, creative, adventurous
