Josée Poirier, Ph.D.

Director, Program Design & Research

With a Ph.D. in cognitive psychology, Josée brings an array of hands-on and research experience to the MeYou Health team, as well as scientific creativity and project management skills. At MeYou Health, she plays a critical role in developing and implementing successful behavior change mechanics in online health and well-being products.

Before moving to Boston to take what she describes as “the most challenging and rewarding job ever” at MeYou Health, Josée developed and conducted academic research projects on topics ranging from social psychology to language disorders in France and in sunny San Diego, CA.

A marathoner and avid health enthusiast, Josée hails from Canada. No stranger to cold, she eagerly admits she loves snow and spending time outdoors. Which explains why she wouldn't be caught wearing heels, as they aren't winter-weather friendly or comfortable for someone who spends her leisure time traveling.

Fluent in both French and English, Josée has quickly become the go-to person for explaining descriptive linguistics and the nuances between dialects, if you fancy knowing.

Persevering, creative, and open-minded -- those are the three words she uses to describe herself, in any language. When not losing track of time reading the dictionary or searching Wikipedia, Josée enjoys endless hours of walking around Boston or watching re-runs of The Simpsons.

More about Josée:

  • daydreaming of a vaca: everywhere and anywhere
  • once collected: Smurfs and miniature toy cars
  • most over-used phrase is: “Or something like that” or “whatever it's called”
  • is motivated by: curiosity and challenges
  • finds inspiration in: passionate people
  • best known among the team for: speaking funny (with an accent)
  • can be found most often in: unbelievable situations
